Task Force on Emergency Preparedness – As a result of our annual conference in 2007, We Are All Brooklyn is convening a leadership group of top ethnic, religious and community leaders, in cooperation with the American Red Cross/Greater New York Region and the Office of Emergency Management of the City of New York. The task force will focus on emergency preparedness, community resilience, inclusiveness, creating connections, volunteerism, cultural competency and communication. The task force will meet on a quarterly basis and will provide a network through which government and community leaders can plan together to meet the common challenge of being fully prepared for a wide variety of emergencies, from terrorism to natural disasters.

Immigrant Women's Economic Empowerment Initiative/DOVE Coalition – This empowerment initiative began in 2003 in Sheepshead Bay. The group received a grant from UJA Federation in 2004 and held its first conference on immigrant women and economic development, attended by more than 100 people, soon thereafter. The issue that percolated to the top was domestic violence among immigrant women. The initiative soon spread to all of Southern Brooklyn and was adopted as a project of We Are All Brooklyn. The initiative runs monthly meetings, trainings and workshops on various issues and also has held one annual forum. Today, the program operates in cooperation with the Kingsborough Jewish Medical Center and is now called the DOVE Coalition. It focuses on domestic violence in the immigrant population and the role that clergy play in preventing domestic violence and providing access to resources. Every year, more than 300 community leaders are trained in various aspects of domestic violence and its prevention.
Task Force on Affordable Housing – This task force of community leaders and advocates examines the issue of affordable housing and its impact on the borough and individual communities of Brooklyn. It also explores how community leaders, in cooperation with government and business, can have an impact on or can allow for initiatives that will help to address this ongoing problem that, for all intents and purposes, will dictate who lives and how they live in Brooklyn. This task force meets on a bi-monthly basis and will help to plan the We Are All Brooklyn Annual Conference for 2008, which will focus on Affordable Housing and the Future of Brooklyn.
